SPONGEBOB EPISODES TAKEN DOWN

Paramount+ and Amazon removed SpongeBob SquarePants episodes from their streaming platforms. The first episode, titled “Kwarantined Krab,” was removed from Paramount+ for the pandemic references as well as the sensitivity amid the anti-Asian violence across the US. The second episode, titled “Mid-Life Crustacean,” was removed on both Paramount+ and Amazon due to the sexual innuendos and story elements that were not appropriate for kids. According to The New York Times, the removal came at a time when other streaming platforms “sought to give audiences context for older films, television shows and books that carry offensive content.”

In a rare interview on CBS Sunday Morning, Woody Allen denied the allegations of sexual abuse by his daughter, Dylan Farrow. The interview was filmed in July of 2020 and just released on the Paramount+ streaming service following the conclusion of the HBO docuseries Allen vs. Farrow. The interview was Allen’s first on-camera interview in almost 30 years, and while he didn’t make any new statements, he did address some of the points brought into the spotlight by the docuseries.
